August 23rd - Pop-out Roof and Great Room Soffit

I have been anxiously waiting for the roof to get framed over the pop-out windows in the dining room:

The soffit and fascia are added to the back of the house:

The soffit is framed around the ceiling in the great room:

Lastly, the roof is sheeted and the two 6-foot skylights are framed over the master bedroom to provide light into the attic storage area:

August 22nd - More Misc Work

Studio - plumbing for the sink:

Sliding glass door threshold/pan was repaired before installation:

Kitchen - the second skylight is opened and the roof is sheeted:

Dining room - Is this a mistake?  No, it's part of the California roof that will go over the top of the existing dining room roof, to tie in the roof over the pop-out window.

Me...up on the roof:

August 20th & 21st - Misc Work

Gerry completes the installation of the second barn door on the back of the studio:

Raymond put spackle over all the nail holes on the fascia then sanded them down:

Gerry drilled holes through the studio to begin the installation of the water, sink, vents & toilet.

August 19th - More Roofing, Fascia and Sheeting

Roofing was added to the garage, and fascia was added to the roof over the front bedroom and the main roof:

Garage from the street side:

The top of the back wall was sheeted:

The vaulted ceiling in the kitchen is framed.  It is a different profile than the roof above it.  The skylights are also framed...the ladder is extended through one of them and the second on the right still has to have the roof cut out.

The soffit around the ceiling in the master bedroom was framed:

Insulation was added to the wall between the front bedroom and the garage:

Bummer...4 of the tub-surround tiles are now cracked from the work on the outside wall:

August 18th - The Garage Gets a New Roof and Fascia, Too

The front of the house was also sheeted today:

Raymond painted the fascia boards before they were hung:

August 17th - Insulation Added in the Garage and Outside Original Rooms

The insulation will definately help keep the garage cool on hot days:

The temporary door is now framed to be a window:

August 17th - The Roof Rafters Go Up

View from the studio roof:

Lots of storage over the great room, master bedroom and laundry room.  A pull-down stairway will be installed in the laundry room so I'll have easy access to all my stuff.
