October 10th - Kitchen Skylights Are Installed

The two skylights in the kitchen were installed today.  They're covered in plastic until the roofing around them gets installed.

View from inside the kitchen.  These skylights open.

October 9th - Camping in the master bedroom!

We had company from out of town stay overnight so we set them up in the trailer bedroom and on the fold-down couch.   We set up an air bed in the master bedroom for ourselves.  (My other option was to sleep under the stars on the roof of the studio.  I think I'll save that experience for a warm, summer evening next year!)

Sept. 21st - Oct. 8th What's been happening for the past two weeks?

I was sick for several days while the roofing on the house continued.  All but the roof over the kitchen is complete--we're waiting for the two skylights to be delivered.

Gerry went on vacation to visit his nephew in Tahoe and his brother in Seattle.  Before he left, rain was in the forcast, so he boarded up all the windows and wrapped the entire house and studio in plastic to keep the insulation dry.

We had some rain come in over the kitchen.  I could not find where the water had leaked in.

And  this drop...out of nowhere!

September 18th - We Started Roofing the House

Jim came over today and we started roofing the house.  This area is over the master suite and the original bedroom and bathroom:

Jim & Gerry had the first 3 rows of paper laid before I could get the camera and get up on the roof:

The 2 skylights were installed yesterday.  They will provide light into the attic for my storage area:

Jim...hard at work:

First of several vent pipes:

Gerry is bowing to Jim, the Roofing King, at the end of the day:

Jim, "Weeeee....we're done for the day"

Jim showed Kenny how to install the shingles:

Jim, in supervisor mode:

It's Corona time!

We finished about 2/3 of the master suite roof area and got started on the roof over the great room:

September 13th & 14th - Electrical Panel Was Installed

The electrical panel was installed just outside the master bath.

The inspector was over today and approved the placement of the electrical panel so Gerry can start pulling the wire.  He also gave the go-ahead to install the roof shingles on the house.
